I draw
from elements found in nature and translate these elements into
an art forms. The rich shapes, textures and colors readily abundant
in natural settings provide a continual source of inspiration.
I take the beauty of natural structures and contrast these elements
with angular man-made structures. As a photographer, I capture
moments of natural inspiration in photographs and later translate
these images into my sculpture and pottery.
Creating
art is my first love, teaching students about art is my second
love. As a teacher, I strive to teach my students the best techniques
of pottery and sculpture. More importantly, I want to provide
them with the hope and courage to unlock their own creativity.
I love to see my students’ faces when they begin to master
the wheel and create their own art.
