True inspiration and peace can be found in nature. If nature doesn't inspire you, nothing will.
Growing up Dallas-Ft.Worth, I was surrounded by the city. Then with one car ride on a pleasant foggy December day, I transported and transplanted my whole existence, as I knew it. I found myself in the desert, an immensely beautiful place, and there I lived and worked for over a decade. The revelations I experienced in the desert about the ideas of relationships, similarities, differences and contracts has had an significant influence on my art. While working at the Big Bend National Park, I was able to observe the real beauty of nature and found my endless source of inspiration.
In the photograph of The Basin over looking The Window, I caught the fog rolling through the mountains like a funnel. The fog rolled over one side of The Basin, then slowly sauntered down and poured out into the desert. These unforgettable moments of observation are always there for me to draw from and translate into art.
A friend posing in a canyon with water. Water is very important in the desert and so are friends.
